CBP Finds Marijuana Hidden in Stroller

San Diego – / N2N / – Stroller_1120U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the San Ysidro port of entry today arrested a woman pushing a little girl in a stroller after they found marijuana hidden in the stroller.

Early this morning at about 5:45 a.m., CBP officers encountered a 38-year-old woman pushing her 6-year-old daughter in a stroller through the pedestrian facility when a detector alerted to the stroller. Once the woman removed the child from the stroller, officers unzipped the seat compartment and discovered a cellophane wrapped package of marijuana.

Offices subsequently found three wrapped packages of marijuana weighing nine pounds valued at $5,500.

The woman, a U.S. citizen and resident of Tijuana, was transported to the Las Colinas Women’s Detention Center to await arraignment on drug smuggling charges.

The child, also a U.S. citizen, was taken to a local temporary emergency shelter for children.
